Route 22 Elephant Coast cuts across the whole district, while using R22 as the main link. It stretches from north of Imfolozi River to Mozambique border, Farazela.
The district’s main draw cards along the Route are South Africa’s First world heritage site- iSimangaliso Wetland Park; Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Park; The presence and abundance of water adventure activities (snorkelling, diving, canoeing, boating); specialised Big Five game reserves; one of South Africa’s Tiger fishing hotspot; the area with South Africa’s highest bird count; and the area’s ‘untouched’ beaches.
